Hi, my name is Emily Denkers. Thank you for coming to visit!
I am a very self driven person always learning new things. I love seeing all the different styles and ways quilts can go together. I am very passionate and meticulous about my work. I strive hard to make sure I have short lead times because I know you want your quilts back in a timely manner. I love taking in new quilts and talking with my clients to see what the vision is for that quilt and making it come to life!
I quilt on two different longarm machines. A Babylock Crown Jewel 3 with Prostitcher and an Innova M28 with Autopilot.
My Story
Shortly after getting married my husband politely told me that I needed a hobby. After admiring my mother-in-law's quilts, I asked her to teach me how to sew. (I didn't even know how to thread a sewing machine!) This was in 2010 and I have been hooked ever since. Love at first stitch. Haha okay maybe it was really like the hundredth stitch, after spending some quality time with "Jack", but I soon fell in love.
After working years of different jobs putting my husband through college, it is now my turn to be able to pursue my chosen career path of being a quilter. Thus Sew Em Quilting was established in 2022.
Other Interests
When I am not quilting or sewing I love being out in the sun. Driving in the beautiful Utah canyons on my motorcycle. Getting to see all the beautiful views and freedom of open road. My husband and I also love camping, taking the side-by-side on all kinds of trails. But the sand dunes are my favorite to ride in with the side-by-side with my husband driving of course with my pup (Tali) on my lap.
